Day Excursions

The day-trips at the Positive Thought Retreat represent one of the highlights of being here. Each day there is an excursion to a fun or inspiring place nearby. Here are just a few of the excursions included in your Retreat experience…

Alsea Falls is located in an Oregon Rainforest.		A visit to the gorgeous Alsea Falls. Located in a rainforest with its very own microclimate, the Alsea Falls are one of the most lovely destinations in the Oregon Coast Range. There is a very short and easy hike (more like a 'walk') down to the base of the falls — Hey, if Lee can do it, anyone can! — and the catering crew spreads out a tasty lunch on the flat rocks that form the riverhead of the Alsea River. What a peaceful and refreshing excursion, with good friends and fare.
The rugged Oregon Coast is world famous. The beautiful Newport Harbor		A day-trip to the coast. We visit serene Newport Harbor, stop for a walk along the beach, visit a lighthouse or two, The Oregon Coast Aquarium and enjoy lunch at world famous Mo's Seafood Restaurant where we spend the afternoon sharing and talking amongst ourselves, making lifelong friendships in the process.
Next it's off to Corvallis for a visit downtown to peruse the many interesting shops and galleries. Finally, we enjoy lunch at the Evergreen Indian Cuisine, arguably one of the best restaurants in Oregon.     The famous Co-op Market is a Corvallis gem.		A visit to Mary's Peak and the friendly town of Corvallis. Mary's Peak, which is the highest point in the Coast Range, is the first stop of the day. The view from Mary's Peak Our catering experts have brought coffee, tea, and a hearty selection of baked goods spread out on one of the most strikingly beautiful picnic grounds in all of Oregon. The view is magnificent, and encompasses the entire Willamette Valley including a mountaineer's view of Corvallis.   Corvallis Country Club Golf Course These are just three of the excursions offered at the Retreat. There are many more, including a golfer's excursion to the Corvallis Country Club for a round on the links, and family excursions to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Ripley's Believe-it-or-Not which the kids will certainly enjoy.
